More about East Melbourne

East Melbourne is one of the oldest suburbs of Melbourne. Early in the 1840’s, wealthy professionals began establishing mansions. Today, even though over half the area of East Melbourne is dedicated to parkland and sporting grounds, the suburb still shelters a lot of old Victorian-style houses and many famous landmarks such as, Parliament House, The Treasury Building, the MCG, St Patrick’s Cathedral and the old Victoria Brewery.
